You could do an amazing game in 1/285-1/300
GHQ, H&R, Scotia have everything
plus terrain is readily available and/or easy to make. One thing you also might consider is S&T's Ignorant Armies
a great strategic game- you can use to set up your tactical battles(see boardgamegeek). Best book is Lessons of Modern War Volume 2, The Iran-Iraq War. BTW, I have done all of this and it worked out great. |

If you want to stay with 15mm could try Khursan's Syrians or 1970's Motorized Rifles for Iraq. For Iran you could try MJ's Argies. The helmets are the old M-1 and the weapons are FALs and Mags but they could work in a pinch. |

Would QRF's post war West German infantry work for Iranian regulars? Webbing's probably all wrong, but they're wearing the right helmet and carrying the right rifle, which may be enough

A lot of the Iraqi kit was modelled on Bundeswehr stuff too (and even made in Germany), so BW would do for them too
