Those links show two different ships, neither of them are the Hood. The first look like the King George class.

jameshammyhamilton19 Jun 2014 12:49 p.m. PST

The first and second links are King George V class
The third is not Hood either

Nice models, just not Hood

Tango0119 Jun 2014 12:53 p.m. PST

Shame there is not a picture of the Hood, but he is there.
You can visit it to the adress at the end of the page.

Besides, HMS Hood was never a battleship.

My grandfather helped build her.

Which may be why she blew up.

GarrisonMiniatures19 Jun 2014 1:46 p.m. PST

Couple if my relations were on her when she did blow up.

You post wholly incorrect links then say its a shame and suggest folk search harder like its got nothing to do with you ?????
I think an apology and reposting a correct link would have been more appropriate.
More care and attention required in my opinion.

Oh quick..someone try appeasement….

"You post wholly incorrect links…"

Strong concept my friend (smile).

"…and suggest folk search harder…"

I don't. I said that it's sad that there were not a picture of the Hood when the article speak about it. But I consider that the pictures are equally interesting.

His own words were that these Hood model is the biggest of the world. Please, read it well.

"…More care and attention required …"

I would tried.

That doesn't actually look like 1/22 scale. I'm guess more like 1/48 to 1/72. Those brown floor tiles are either 12" or 18" across. 1/22 is big manned ship model size and would weigh about 1 to 2 tons.

Here is a Graf Spee at 1/20:

There was a guy trying to build a 1/35 Hood a few years ago. I don't think he ever finished it.

Then there is the Yamato at 1/10 Gigantic!:

I wouldn't pick on Tango too much. He didn't write the incorrect info and might not have ever seen enough big scale models to know the difference. This forum is all about learning. Tango starts many interesting topics that lead in interesting directions.

If we want to pick on anything here it is the guy who posted the inaccurate website. Tango just brought the issue to light. Now, our responses will show up on a web search when someone else wonders about the truthfulness of the original web site. Tango has done a service for the web community.

That collection of models is quite interesting in it's own right. Has anyone else seen anything about it?

Yep, Tango owes me an apology for finding this link to some COMPLETELY AWESOME scale models.

How dare you sir? How dare you?

Makes me glad I am a Napoleonic Modeller. I opened this to find what was clearly a KGV battlship, nothing to do with poor old Hood, a battlecruiser. Then I could not get out of it without switching off and rebooting!

I seriously, honestly, thought Tango/Armand just did Napoleonics. He is so well known to those of us who follow such things….but I had no idea he was so versatile.

Great forum you have here. Funny how so many contributors cannot tell Bismarck/Tirpitz class from Prinz Eugen/Hipper/Blucher class though. I suppose if Vice Adm Holland could not, we must forgive……
