This is an album of a few pics showing the graybeard gamers group playing a scenario we will bring to Rapier next weekend in Jacksonville FL. Two games, one each for the British and the French. The scenario is a brigade of French assaulting a thin British defensive position anchored on a village. In the first game the French skirmishers covered the approach of the columns successfully, and the British foolishly launched their limited cavalry early. The results were a steamroller victory for the French who amassed against the British left ignoring the village. In the second game, the British held the cavalry in reserve and move their infantry reserves up to secure the right flank of the village. The French sent three columns straight at the village that was occupied by veterans. The result was a nasty fight that saw the French winning the village but exhausting half of their infantry I the process. The British left countered by sweeping around the village and routing enough regiments to drive the French élan to zero. Overall, fun as usual. |

If you have grandchildren or kids under 30, then FB is about the only way you can keep up with them. I would love to post pics right on here, but my iPad and tmp don't work well together. Couldn't get to new topic to stay or the pics to paste. |

Not a facebook guy. Don't tweet either. Damned if I'm going to join Facebook to review stuff. Now talking about gaming at the bar with a beer in my hand
that's perfect. |

Hello, and yes as the author I can tell you all you wish to know. It is a set of rules I originally wrote in 1993. I have rewritten it completely, and with the help of the Graybeard Gamers Group it has been perfected into a fast playing brigade level game with the feel of the period. Unlike many games, the player is concerned with defeating the enemy rather than exploitation of the rules. Simple combat rules combined with rewards for period tactics make it easy to learn. Most people learn the game in 15 minutes, but being easy to learn only means you are free to concentrate tactically on defeating the enemy. Here is a link to see some images of the game in progress. The rules sell for $20 USD and $3 USD shipping. Full color with examples and learning scenarios. |
