In all 40K, he is referred to as The Emperor but that was probably not his birth name. Probably. (Though with 40K fluff, anything is possible.) I am partial to Jim or Pyotr for some reason. Any guesses? |

His fraternity brothers called him "Sluggo". |

Bob. In all seriousness, I don't think they actually ever gave him a name. I've seen a fan fiction where his name was 'Jack Harkness'. |

Palpatine. This is what comes of giving Gunguns the vote. |

I've never seen it. Remember that the Emperor is immortal. I think there is some allusion to him being from Anatolia, and perhaps being an officer in the Byzantine army, so he might have a Greek name. But he could well be far older even than that. Probably Malcador was the only one who knew. |

I heard a convincing argument once that he is the avatar of the Chaos God Malal (Malice) from the older editions of Warhammer. Malal's Chaos aspects range into opposition to Chaos itself
which I guess would be plausible. He vanishes from Warhammer mythology at one point. Perhaps he becomes the Emporer of Man? |

I remember that there was a different warlord mentioned during the Age of Strife, and he actually had this badass name. I just can't remember it. |

I KNOW AS I ASKED Mr Rick Priestley many years ago when I talked to him. He revealed his identity (over 23 years ago).
. He said "The Emperor is
Cliff Richard. And that is no word of a lie.

Since the Emperor is locked in an Iron Lung and he looks like a wax dummy, what difference does it make? In all seriousness
That cracked me up. |

Newman. His name was Newman.
At least according to the 40K wiki. link |

It's Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. In more seriousness, it's never been printed and likely never will. Assigning a name would humanize the character. |

Thanks for the answers, folks. I will bow to the omniscient wisdom of Rick Priestly and go with Cliff Richard. Seems legit. |

Jakar, are you thinking of the excellently named "Nathan Dume?" He was the Pan-Pacific Tyrant or something. |

Apologies for resurrecting this old thread, but, did Forgeworld, or GW pure, ever release a model of the Emperor? would seem a good idea for the Horus Heresy range, but I cant find one. John |

Unfortunately I no longer have a copy, but from what I remember his story (and possibly his name) was told fully in the original 40k rule book Rogue Trader. Furgie |
