For a Rosebud game I'm planning I want a 15mm General Crook figure. But I also want him in civvies on a mule, of course. I've searched a few figure ranges and TMP but without success. Does such a figure exist, or even a generic civilian on a mule that I could convert?

Thanks in anticipation.

Andrew,
Blue Moon has a set of pack mules in their 18mm
Foreign Legion range, one of which is barebacked, & quite
suitable for your needs. Their Old West range has numerous
mounted cowboy/civilians that would be suitable, but would
necessitate purchasing the whole pack.
Crook on a mule? I have him on a horse for my Rosebud game.

I'd like to be a packer
and pack with George R Crook.
And dress up in my canvas suit to be for him mistook.
I'd braid my beard in two long tails
and while away the day
in whittlin' sticks and wondering what
the New York papers say.

Hi Jerry. Thanks for that. The book on the Rosebud that I mentioned to you says that he was well known for riding a mule. Yet in the only mention of what he rode (that I can find) it says that he was on a "coal black charger", which I take to be a horse.

So he might have to be on a horse, which is a shame because it would have made for a nice distinctive figure(target!!).

Did you use Blue Moon for your miners Jerry?

Andrew,
Yes, from their Mounted & Foot Cowboys packs & Townsfolk pack. The latter has figures with shovels, gold pans & carrying boxes, sacks, etc. IIRC, historically the miners/packers had approximately 60 men in their unit. At
5:1, this yields 12 figures, both mounted & dismounted. Thus
the most economic purchase might be just the mounted & foot cowboy packs.
Hope this helps.
