1986-88, The USS Ranger (CV-61) used the William Tell Overture for our, "go-to," song for any event (UNREP, heading out of port, etc.) Since it has a place in pop culture as the, "Theme for the Lone Ranger," it was fitting. And I am sure it was, "their," song long before I ever arrived

On the USS Dubuque, it was, "Scotland the Brave."

I do not recall if there was any songs on the USS Belleau Wood or Essex, the two other vessels I had been aboard for floats.

USS Aubrey Fitch (FFG-34) always played either YouTube link or YouTube link when we performed breakaway at the end of UNREP.
