the brown paint that the SADF painted their armored vehicles years ago? And what brands of model paint equivalents are available? |

They painted their vehicles Dark Earth. Humbrol 29 is an excellent match. Their brown uniforms were called 'Nutria' brown, though this is not the same colour, despite what you might find written in various places on the web. |

I remember before I was thrown out of the SADF I heard something about some garment or other's being made of the skin or fur of s nutria. Are you sure of your details? |

Sorry Sobieski, I'm not sure I understand the question. Just to clarify, the colour of SADF vehicles was called Dark Earth and was essentially the same shade as the British WW2 camo colour of the same name (although it did fade quite considerably to a pinkish shade in the sun and rain):
The SADF's brown uniform cloth was called 'Nutria'. However, some books and articles also refer to the vehicle paint colour as 'Nutria', which isn't correct:

Some QRF Ratels painted Humbrol 29 and highlighted with 29+white mix:

and please
which could be the best matching colour (for wargame level of painting) for the above mentioned Nutria
?..maybe the same kaki of WW2 British Battledess? |

Yes, essentially that same colour. I use Humbrol 26. |

I have used Dark Tan by Testor's spray, although Johan has informed my that it is too light. Dark Earth is what he has suggested. Here is his FB page. facebook.com/WarInAngola and link |

Does anyone know the Vallejo equivalent of Humbrol 29? Which wash would you recommend using on infantry and vehicles. |
