I have a bunch of these to paint and I presume they will paint up rather quickly (compared to the Austrian Hussars I am doing presently) but I don't have much in the way of uniform plates available for them. My Ospreys don't have anything on them and Elting has only a single plate. Anyone know of an online source for some good plates showing what these should look like, I know they varied a ton. Cheers, The Bandit |

They are covered on the Mont St Jean site: link You can also find Knotel plates like the one below on this site: link

The only online source I have is for the 100 Days Campaign in 1815. The site is one of the most comprehensive I have found on the web for Napoleonic uniforms. centjours.mont-saint-jean.com It's in French but you can easily figure out the plates. Terry |

Bandit, If you give me an email addy I can send you some pictures from a French book on the Prussian Army of 1813, including a wonderful breakdown of lance pennons by province. |

If you look at what I wrote in my book on the subject. Different provinces followed different practices before 1815. In 1815 the black over white was supposed to be for all Landwehr Regiments. 1. Some provinces used the seniority of the Regiment over either black or white. 2. Some Regiments distinguished their squadrons by seniority. 3. Some provinces had the provincial colour over black or white. Stephen |

I can recommend Stephen's book if you want to get the detail right – covers the infantry too. If you want a general idea I'm sure mont-saint-jean is a good source. |
