GAME DESCRIPTION: It was supposed to be a reconnaissance mission, but the Schutztruppen, machine gunners and Marines of the Recon Detachment were looking for a fight. So were Herero riflemen, expertly concealed in the bush. Can the Germans get in close, get their intel and get out alive, or will the Hereros annihilate the Recon Detachment? DESCRIPTION: July 5, 1876. In July 1876 the Transvaal Boers started a campaign against Chief Sekukuni and the Bapedi. One column under Commandant Smit was assigned to clear the banks of the Olifants River of Bapedi including Mathebes Kop which they did on July 4th and 5th. Later in July the Boers attacked Sekukuni's Stad and the campaign dragged on until February 1877. The end result of the war was that the Sekukuni paid a fine and kept his territory, the Transvaal government went bankrupt, and the British annexed the Transvaal in April 1877. This scenario is based on the second attack on the kop.

DESCRIPTION: 28 May 1939. Lieutenant Colonel Azuma Yaoza's 23d Reconnaissance Regiment has been sent around the flank of Soviet and Mongolian units defending the east bank of the Khalkhin Gol to cut off the enemy's retreat once the main Japanese attack gets underway. Instead, Colonel Azuma finds his force cut off from the main body and under attack by Soviet artillery, infantry, and armor. Can the spirit of bushido overcome Soviet numbers and technology?

Fierce Russian counterattacks were also an element of these early battles. The scenario cover the German attack towards the villages of Butovo and Aleevka.

Bring your Wi-Fi smart device (tablet preferred, but smartphone or laptop will also work) and use it to plot the moves, do the damage and all the calculations you used to do with pencil and paper. Rules and how to use the web app will be taught. The battle will be somewhere in the Pacific. A life vest might be good to have.

How exactly do you NOVAG guys know exactly every weekend I'm going to be out of town when you plan your events? :D

Love to make it, I'll be suffering the cruelties of Disney and Universal with the family that weekend. Have fun!

Historically the British completely failed in their mission and the German ships arrived in Turkey in mid August 1914 and Turkey joined the German side. This scenario

This was a lot of fun; thanks to everyone who came. I played in Dennis Wang's Airforce/Dauntless game, flying an Imperial Japanese Army Zero. Got shot down in the first game; shot down 1.5 Wildcats in the second game.
