So early last week, my dear wife (Gawd bless her!), sends me an email and says "Do you want to keep your precious figures in a nice place?…

"Hmmm…" sez I…Knowing that based on some of the things I have read on TMP, "a nice place", (according to some wives) would be the trash can….

But trusting her wonderful sweet judgement….I said "uuuuhhh..sure dear???"

"Good!" she says happily….

So she makes plans….

So yesterday morning we spend the morning down at the South Office of her company, moving back home my "new little present" that she got me….

Yeah….Seems that her company bought this last year to display "community awards, etc…in the office", and then six months later completely remodeled the office and decided that they "didn't want it." So it was up for sale. So we got an almost 500 dollar mirror backed, lighted, five shelf, (with option for more), 6 1/2 feet high, dual slide entry, locking display case, for 50 bucks.

"That's for your future man cave." She told me….

Gods I am blessed…..

And I'll say it again…"GAWD BLESS HER!!!!"

wink

Great woman and a great deal. Considerate and Thrifty. Sounds like the total package.

Awesome!!! My wife did a very similar thing for me, about 5 or 6 years ago, she spotted the same sort of curio cabinet in a Costco catalogue, showed it to me and suggested I get one for my figures. Not as great a deal as yours, but still priced below retail at a fine furniture store. They had one in stock across town, I remember I took all the seats out of the minivan we owned at the time, recruited my closest gaming buddy to ride shotgun and help me with the loading (sadly he has since relocated to a foreign country), and brought it home safe and sound. Every time I see my figures in there, it reminds me what a lucky man I am… as are you, Murphy!

That was a nice surprise. Lucky man.

Congratulations!
I have a few display cases.
I traced one of my shelves on paper, then took it to the local paint & glass place, where they were able to make several more shelves to match.
Shelf brackets can be bought at any hardware store.
Now fill the thing up!
