I'm wondering if there are any rules sets out there that assign a basic 1-10 rating to fighters. For example, 10 years ago if the F-15 was a "10", the Mig-21 might be a "5". Something baeic like that. The Reason? most air rules that I've seen are single jet vs jet
I want to fight squadron vs squadron on an operational level. Say the Iran-Iraq War 1980-88. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated
btw are there similar ratings for WW2 planes? |

it's WAY less the jet than the AWACS and the strategic doctrine. F4's and F5's with an AWACS (like the e2c) can readily beat mig29's without one. (as Israel, Singapore, and Taiwan can attest from THEIR wargames) |

Tabletop Games used to produce a set of campaign rules that included such stats for planes. They had 'Korps Commander' for WW2 and 'Corps Commander – OMG' for moderns. Try them – they're not too expensive (~£3.50 ea IIRC) and I think are still available. |

F4's and F5's with an AWACS (like the e2c) can readily beat mig29's without one. Also due to the MiG29 being crap. However, the support and doctrine are indeed a huge factor. -Kle. |

The MIG 29 is not necessarily crap. It depends on what version you are talking about. |

The board game Luftwaffe has such ratings for WWII aircraft in Europe. Presently it's from Decision Games. |
