I'm in the midst of prepping models for painting this winter. Among the prep work are WW2 GI's. I have decided to add some pulp to them just for fun and to dabble in sheer pulpy, blow-stuff-up, fun. Sgt Rock and the Unknown soldier are easy, the Haunted Tank is giving me issues.
I am going 28mm and will snatch up Warlords Stuart tank. The stumbling block is the Ghost of Gen Stuart. I can't find a suitable looming model for that scale. Saber and sash 40mm would work well for 15mm but seem too small for 28mm.
I am thinking of using acetate and drawing Stuart on it and perhaps some red "Clankity-Clank-clank" on a smaller strip and attach them to the Stuarts base. I would rather have a ghostly mini though.
I've thought of busts, but the price is higher than I like and they just aren't cartoony enough( odd complaint that!)
Note the base is what will make the Stuart the Haunted tank. The troops will be just another American force without the inclusion of the DC comic heroes.
I'm just trying to pack the most pulp in a few models to push the force into a pulpy list.
Any ideas are appreciated!

Someone does a 1/32 plastic confederate…

If you're really brave/skilled, you buy or cast one in clear resin, give it a wash to show the lines.

Otherwise, there's the classic 'paint light blue and drybrush white' effect. Though I suppose painting a low-intensity red and drybrushing white or cream would be more accurate to the source material.

Pretty sure you can buy the haunted tank in heroclix. Which is 28mm scale?

Thanks all. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of " clankity- clank- clank" on acetate to dress up the base! ;)
I suppose I'll dive back in to looking, a "clean" Sam Elliot type hat wearing double buttoned ACW officer type on horse should do, I didn't think of plastic toy soldiers, so that will help!
@ Spendlove-
I'd much rather avoid the clix and doctor up my own versions. Nothing wrong with clix, but I want a recognizable Stuart. In the final years of the haunted tank, the crew used a frankenstien tank cobbled from several American Tank wrecks. I just want a "simple" Stuart! ;)

The clix version looks like a Stuart to me (the later one also had a t-34 hull, so I'd probably notice if the Clix version had that one and it doesn't).
Also, Matakishis Tea House feature the haunted tank:

They've used a Redoubt figure for the ghost.
