Hi all. I need an Indiana Jones miniature in 28mm. I'm aware of several, but I'm trying to pick the best fit. I'd prefer him to have a whip, and to scale nicely with Pulp Figures.

Reaper: They have some possibilities, but they tend to be bigger than Pulp Figures.

Jack harrison from Reaper looks ok, but his whip is comically large (yeah, go ahead and make the obvious joke).

Frank Buck is cool (probably the best likeness all around), but no whip.

RAFM's got this guy, but again, no whip:

Artizan has a nice one in just the right scale, but (sigh) no whip:

Blue Moon (no whip; I can only assume people are afraid of IP infringement, or that whips are hard to sculpt).

Not wild about the Copplestone or (ironically) the Pulp Figures versions.

I'm aware of the TSR and West End Games versions, but they're impossible to find. (I really like the West End Games version best.)

Are there any other versions out there that I don't know about? if anyone has any scale comparisons, that would be great, too. Please share.

Thanks!

I got one at I believe it was Cold Wars this year from Bob Bowling. Not sure which company the figure is by and I believe he added the whip himself but it realy looks good so you may want to contact him to see if he has any left and maybe send you a photo of it.

Try Pulp Figures. They have an American Adventure set with a guy who looks like Indiana Jones.

Do Yourself a whip. Guitar string, superglue, some green stuff. I have made myself a whip for my Elhiem 20 mm Indy.

This is just a guess, but I imagine it would be difficult to sculpt a whip that would be thick enough to withstand rough handling and still look realistic. I'm not sure about what material to use, but coiled piece of wire to hang on the mini's belt might be the most practical and easy to create.

Blackwater gulch has Nevada Dave from kickstarter , but alas not sure where to get one.

Fantasy Flight Games sells a pre-painted version of Monterrey Jack who is an Indiana Jones expy.

I heartily reccomend this also. I recently bought the old He-Man/MOTU figures from Grenadier. The 2 Beastman figures have wretched whips (sculpted mostly laying across the body. Looked awful) after cutting away the old whips I drilled out the fist and inserted a piece of 18/20g wire. I teeny bit of green stuff in the handle area, and now the whips look awesome. I have never used Guitar string, but the premise is identical. It's a super easy mod that pretty anyone can pull off and you will have the figure you are after. I can post pics when I get off work.

You seem to like several of the whipless figures, so you might want to consider customizing one…Try sculpting a coiled whip from greenstuff (or miliput or whatever else you have lying around). It's surprisingly easy, even if you have no experience sculpting. Just roll out a long thin "rope" of greenstuff and then coil it up. Wait for it to solidify and glue it on to your favorite figures belt.

The new version of Carson Smith from PHP-2 also comes with an optional whip as well as a machete.

Artizan's Kentucky Davies is pretty good.

Carson Smith's whip looks more like a tentacle!

The Angry Piper07 Jun 2014 2:42 p.m. PST

Thanks to all.

Bob Murch: the whip makes all the difference to me on the new Carson Smith. I wasn't aware it was included as an option. Of course, I just received a big order from you, so it would have been nice if I knew I wanted an Indiana Jones figure back when I placed the order. :)

The Shadow: I was contemplating scratch-building a coiled whip on the Reaper Frank Buck or the Artizan or Blue Moon versions. But I think I'm going with Bob's after all. It gives me an excuse to order some Nazis.
