Do any manufacturers make a nice exo suit mini ala Elysium or Edge of Tomorrow? The market seems to be lacking figures like this and it seems that armed conflict will eventual head in the direction of exo equipped warriors. Cheers Ps Edge of Tomorrow is fricken amazeballs. Seriously, I creamed my panties
soooo gooooood |

Yes. They've been in-process for a number of years, even before Elysium or Edge of Tomorrow debuted. They're based on the older HULC suits that Lockheed Martin was developing at the time. link The pics below are about two generations behind of what I've been working on lately. They will see the light of day, though. Very modular. Lots of parts and options. Some of you will curse my name for going blind with all those fiddly bits. ;)

They are a neat piece of work. The revisions are going to be even better, hopefully. Best, JBR |

The hips look too far apart. When I stand my legs are directly below my pelvis not seperated so much. The articulation is always the tricky part. The human body has joints that you cant directly apply the exo to, especially the shoulder. Elysium got the shoulders right. You just cant slap a suit over a human form and call it power armor. Going today to see the new Cruise movie to see if they got the exo right in that. |

The Tom Cruise suit looks incredibly exposed. Better hope no snipers land a shot on your center or its over. Isn't the whole point of power armor to make carrying a hardshell a reality? Elysium seemed to be more of a power-assist than a real suit. |

Any of the Tomorrow's War infantry from GZG should have a more-or-less visible exo, at least on the legs. @ Augusta: The photo does show an armor carrier on the chest. Isn't the whole point of power armor to make carrying a hardshell a reality? No, it's to enable the troops to be functional under the weight of all the crap we keep piling on them! Remember, LockMart's HULC is a logistics pack mule, not intended for carrying armor. Yet. I'd love to get a modified HULC (with arms and back reinforcement, like the Elysium exo) for working around the house. Bad back makes life unfun, and downright impossible to do a lot of things. |

I'll take a hardshell, thanks. Something you can survive frag, not just well-aimed bullets that happen to hit your chest plate. Those femoral arteries in the crotch and upper legs are just too exposed for me. There's nothing worse, I imagine, than getting tagged in the ding-ding. Best, JBR |

"There's nothing worse, I imagine, than getting tagged in the ding-ding." Tagged in the ding-ding LOL, funny stuff, yeah as soon as troops start wearing the exo suits they will armour them. |

As soon as you start armouring them power requirement's go up weight of rig goes up. I think just a load baring suit is the goods. With some minor armour. Unless they start making superlight materials for the armour. But then is range of movement going to be hindered. The Exo suits in EOT are quite nimble. Seen Edge of Tomorrow again today but took the wife this time. She loved it and I loved it again just as much as the first time. |
