I've sent a few originals in super sculpey firm, baked to a buddy who has a vulcanizer and a degasser/vac chamber etc. He gets nice molds but when he mixes the resin (A and B), then degasses it, I believe that goes well. Then he pours the resin into the mold itself, then puts that in his vac chamber. He explains it like the resin just comes pouring out of the mold. Does anyone have any hints as to what the issue might be here? I suggested he used incredibly LOW pressure, but maybe he needs more pressure? Totally confused. |

The resin is not filling the void. Under vacuum the trapped air escapes fast, pushing the high viscosity resin out. Better to cast under a positive pressure of 1 to 2 atmospheres. |

Resin needs some air for its reaction . Do not degass the resin . pour into mold then pressure it . Wait until pot life is done . remove from pot and let it finish curing before demolding . |

OK you use Vac to make the molds and degas the resin (not done in a mold but in a mixing cup) But you use pressure to cast not vac. |

As others said, you vacuum during mold making and pressurize during casting. |
