I bought three of them when they first came out years ago (and significantly cheaper than $25 USD each). They're 1/700 scale. You got your numbers mixed up. The main guns are 280mm naval guns from the Gniesenau. The secondaries are 128mm guns in Maus turrets. The smaller guns are 15mm MG autocannons. |

So how long are they really? In cm and inches? Could you check for me? Thank you so much! And I stand by my statement – this is awesome AND insane. |

The hull is almost exactly 5cm/2inches long. The gun barrels add a little to that. |

It's brilliant for Epic, but not so much for OgreBolo. The search continues! Sincerely, thank you for posting that pic. You saved me a ton of money. Community, man. Community. |

That's actually a nice one, but to get it in any kind of detail will cost well near on $100 USD – way out of my range. |

I needed some therapy last year and scratch built a few P.1000 Ratte in 6mm. I haven't had luck posting pictures without the URL link listing, so I've posted the forum link to GHQ. link |

Would be nice if GHQ made a Ratte to add to their Wehrmacht '47 line … link But they pretty much ignored my e-mails … |

There was a discussion once on the subject, with mixed results. They could be worried about quick market saturation after putting effort into making it, or they could be concerned with a lack of interest. There is the issue of no real concise idea of the location of the AA mounts or the 128mm gun. You have a lot of different versions available in different scales. Maybe if a lot of interested people emailed them they would reconsider. Honestly, they already make all of the secondary weapons and mounts. If I were to do it I would make 2 different hulls, one with the 128 in the upper glacis and one without, and 2 different turrets, one with the 128 in the center gun mount and one without. The customer could order what they wanted along with the secondary weapon mounts. You could also have several optional mount locations, on the hull or turret, and plugs to fill them should they not be necessary. The only things that would be on the shelves would be the turrets and hulls. No boxes or blister packs waiting to be sold, no dead inventory. A day or two delay as the kit is assembled, but no big deal. BTW, I would consider resin for the turret / hull, metal would be too heavy and expensive. Plastic would be better and allow some serious kitbashing, but how expensive would it be? Kickstarter anyone? |

So far … no 6mm version on the market … worrying about market saturation may be just an excuse, IMO … And they could sell a 6mm model with weapons option or two or three separate version. And they would not only appeal to some WWII games but some Sci-fi gamers too … that may assuage some concern about lack of interest … Think about all the minis GHQ makes … I like their Wehrmacht '47. But is it as big a seller as their standard real world historical lines. Plus how many of the more obscure smaller counties involvment with limited weapons design do they sell ? Like Hungary, Romania, Poland, Finland, etc. ? Of course, those models are much smaller than a Ratte …. So risk is limited … |
