I am in the process of reading through the Mar 2014 Wargames Illustrated (the most recent arrival in this far flung colony) and I saw that there was a game called Gangs of Rome, does anyone have any more details?

It is being put in again at NJCON this weekend, on Friday.

Did not see it on list for Saturday.

I played in one session. It was an urban brawl set in the Marius-Sulla conflicts of the first century.

First scenario, Sulla and his co-consul had to get back to their houses while various Marius-affiliated gangs and neutral gangs roamed around.

Second Scenario: Marius must escaped from the city while Sulla's troops pour in.

It was a first rate game all around. The city scape was wonderful and the game was fast-paced and exciting.

If I recall correctly, Cy Taylor put on that game. He's about here somewheres.

Cy, where are you? ;-)>

My thoughts were to play it ona 6 x 4 table initially with 2-4 players, then if others get involved, expand the table size.

What rules? Are they home brewed?

If anyone has contact with Cy Taylor or Steve Hunt who ran Gangs of Rome at a couple of recent US cons, could they ask either of them to contact me at poiter50 at gmail dot com ?

I was able to play at Fall In and was Sulla in one of the games. The game we did after all the Non Marius Romans switched sides and got to play the second scenario. I had a great time. I thought Cy was going to be running it again at NJ Con. I was not able to make it. If I see him will let him know you are interested

Bump again. Was this played at Historicon?

Hello, Sorry I didn't see this thread. Didn't go to Historicon, but plan to run it at fall In. Cy

I'm in Australia so Fall In is not an option for me. Can you share some details such as rules used, pics, write ups of previous games, etc? I can be contacted on poiter50 at gmail dot com .
