Flames of war and Tango. Bear with me on this one
.. I don't play flames of war, our group uses our own rules so don't really want to buy units packaged in the wrong number for our needs. We play historical battles not points balanced scenarios. However some of their models are superb and we will buy them individually where possible, and some of the articles on the websites are really useful. The new Italian buildings they have realised are shockingly dull and do nothing to make your table look Italian. So they come up with some great things and some bad things. Just because they don't fit into my gaming ideal is irrelevant, I use what I can and appreciate that they bring new things and new people into the hobby. Tango posts can be thought of in the same way. He posts a duff one which is just a picture of a new item out that you have just read about in the news section, then he posts a link to some German language page about the boxer rebellion, a link I would never have found in a month of Sundays. That is his way, and anyone who ignores him or even just goes, "another tango" post and doesn't open it misses out on this. Heck it's up to them, but if we were all a bit more tolerant of others maybe we'd all gain? |

While I appreciate the sentiment and agree, there is no point bringing it up. It has become a mob mentality thing. I am just letting go, Bill can do whatever. |

I agree. No more new threads on the subject please – not even the subject of tolerance. |

This might have been useful a few weeks ago, but now is nothing but picking at scabs. |

The trick to picking at a scab is to just get the dried part and not reopen the wound. |

My God!!!I agree with John the OFM!!
In the bad old days of the previous witch hunt, polls were suggested, approved, and even voted on that would result in you being dawghoused for agreeing with the OFM. Amazing the ridiculous stuff some bored wargamers will get up to that has nothing to do with wargaming. |

We're not allowed to talk about politics and current events, so how else can we create unnecessary strife and polarization? |

Ok
point taken..will keep my thoughts to myself :) |

I am excrutiatingly tired of all things Tango. You know, I haven't minded the guy as he finds some really interesting items. I never cared how many posts he made etc. His predilection to re-posting his own posts, and others which were already on TMP was mildly annoying. This last few weeks, tho, has really gotten to me
.more so from the public sycophantic behaviour of his fans. Public ingratiation seems to be the norm now, political correctness run rampant. He apparently can do no wrong in his fans' haste to appear to be defending "freedom of expression". |

Dave J, It sounds like Tango is a bit like the British Royal Family – a lot of people who "hate" them actually hate the fawning nature of the media coverage they receive, for which they themselves are not responsible. Even monarchists get tired of the tedious gossip and inconsequential guff. Tango's postings are very much a curate's egg; however, that is not so much of a problem for me as I visit only a limited number of boards on TMP. So I live with it – enjoy the occasional benefits and "suck up" the non-life-threatening downside. I wouldn't presume to say that mine is the majority view on this, but I suspect there's a significant number who feel the same. |

John the OFM has the right of it. 20thmaine endorses the views of the OFM and sighs patiently in the direction of scab pickers. |
Iowa Grognard | 02 Jun 2014 7:34 a.m. PST |
Amen to SM. I too suspect yours is the majority view, but by it's very nature it's not the loud and vocal or "must be heard" opinion. Luckily, however rare, rational views like this get posted. |

So we agree to move on then. Next, some bloke wants to raise the issue of removing the Stifle Table from TMP
INCOMING!!! |

Making that bid for the silver medal place ? |
Bandit | 04 Jun 2014 2:54 p.m. PST |
Can we change the title of TMP Talk to be "Complain Tango or Complain About people Complaining about Tango" ? I know it is long but it is all that happens here. Cheers, The Bandit |

Don't forget Complain About People Complaining About All The Complaining! :) |
Inkpaduta | 13 Jun 2014 6:50 a.m. PST |
Please can we move on. This almost seems like a posting trying to get things going again. |
Arteis | 13 Jun 2014 4:07 p.m. PST |
This almost seems like a posting trying to get things going again. Well, maybe that is exactly what it is. For a short while we had the ability to configure our front pages exactly as we wanted them. However, there was a technical glitch, so that ability was temporarily removed after only a couple of days. But since then there has been no sign of its return, nor even some sort of progress report. So who can blame people for worrying this will be just swept under the carpet unless they 'get things going again'? Maybe the technical issue is too big, and isn't going to be resolvable. Well, if that's the case, then let people know so they don't go banging on about an impossible solution. But if it can be fixed, then fix it so everybody is happy. |

.. Yeah, maybe not, thinking about it eh :) |

Heh heh, fellow peeler. Although I had never heard of that programme until recently, I get the reference. |
