I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a couple of Army packs from Dixon for my initial foray into WSS/18th Century gaming using Maurice before I undertake the main armies I want to build. I'll be basing 6-8 figures in two ranks per 40 by 30mm stand as I get back into painting again after a 5-6 year break. I know that the Dixon 15mm are on the small side compared to Eureka/Blue Moon 18s these days, but that's part of the charm, considering that outside of WW2, most of my non-AncMed 15mm armies have been from Mikes Models and/ or Naismith. So if anyone has photos of painted units using the Dixon 15mm ranges I'd be interested in seeing what can be achieved. The idea is to build a couple of sample forces that will allow me to try out a couple of Table Top teasers with an easy potential to expand. Note that I am happy to mix units of differenet manufacturers in the long run but it'd be nice to see some massed effect photos for the Dixon. |

Dixon is my favorite figure line for this period followed by Roundway and Essex. I find the Blue Moon too large. |
