I don't think on-table artillery in the larger scales deserve a place on a WW2 battlefield.
Which is why I have 3 of these (in 20mm) amongst other artillery pieces.

I really like WW2 artillery and also have almost wheel to wheel Soviet guns too.

Great rear-area objectives for marauding allied armor. So I wonder what kind of support vehicles go with these – ammo carriers, hq vehicles, etc.?

I die in mine on "World of Tanks" regularly (smile).

Makes a great objective. Wasn't the entire Ranger mission on D-Day to take out some 15cm towed artillery emplaced almost right on the cliffs?

I still have nightmares about those things from playing PanzerBlitz in the 1970s…

Yes, Lion, that the was the Point-du-Hoc op … And me too Mserafin, Panzer Blitz was one of my early games also. Loved it at the time !

I think there was a gun-less version for carrying ammo.

Couple of de-turreted PzIIs as Don says for ammn, plus at varying times one or two PzIII OPs and SdKfz 250 and/or 251 halftracks. Depends on the period/KStN in use.

I like to use big guns on the table they just don't shot at things on the table. I like it when one side or the other has to stop them from firing or stop them from getting off the table or stopping them from setting up and firing. etc.
