This is a diecast I got from ebay for $15 USD, S&H included
Scale pics show a 1" grid and minis by Copplestone, Pulp Figures, and Artizan.

I intend to convert this into a monowing and paint it up, but its playable in the meantime.
The diecasts come painted or brushed metal like this one.
This is a Chevron one.
It comes in Texaco colors and at least one other, so good hunting.

They don't get any pulp-y-er than that!

A great plane for the era! I recall seeing one in an interior illustration in a Doc Savage pulp magazine. The Ford Tri-Motor is another die cast worth looking at.

Great find which once again puts me on the horns of a dilemma. The model is a terrain piece so to speak. Do I spen money on expensive terrain or on miniatures????

It's not just a terrain piece. It's a *moving* terrain piece that can be an integral part of an adventure. I don't think that $15.00 USD is very expensive either. The scale on the die-cast shown is very near perfect too.

<Do I spend money on expensive terrain or on miniatures????>
Allen57, the obvious answer to your question is "yes!".
