"Furthermore, it fatally undermined the prevailing US tank doctrine, which had prescribed leaving the engagement of enemy tanks to the Tank Destroyer battalions, freeing the tanks to support the infantry and exploit gaps in the enemy lines. A new armoured vehicle was needed to better suited to the realities of modern warfare. Fortunately, after a good deal of political debate, the T26E3 heavy tank was put into production in November 1944."

Nice looking models but went with CD in the end. Can't deny that they were a pain to clear up, worse for you proper painting types out there I'd imagine! Still do prefer the metal approach though. Wonder if the "Super" turret will look right on my 6th spare CD model? CD and BF stuff does match up quite well, sometimes! |

The only US Armored Division that had platoons of Pershings in WW2 was the 9th AD. Other divisions that received a few spread them among companies ins 1s and 2s. |

Oddly enough, I actually prefer the Sherman Jumbo to the Pershing. For that matter, I prefer the M36B1 (M36's turret on M4A3 hulll), if we're just talking about a mobile 90mm gun. But a price of $10 USD each ($30 for the box of three) is quite nice. |

Not bad looking. I haven't bought any BF plastics yet, but hopefully their plastics are better than their resin/metal models. Damon. |

The wiki page. link Apparently 310 were sent to the ETO. 20 saw combat in the 3rd and 9th AD. |

I always enjoy seeing allied "heavies". Guess a bit of counter weight to the billions of Tigers on gaming tables :) |
