So, the first sets are in -- BMP-1 and Stryker. I wonder, are they ok to sell using crappy photos like these, or do they need to be painted up, and if so, who can paint such tiny things? grin

Looking good!

Personally I always prefer to see the naked truth, as painting can hide some of the detail. The perfect solution to highlight all of the detail is actually a very light and diluted coat of black ink…

I'll second the thin black wash to show details. They do look good, but not for me. Good sales!

I had been thinking of going 3mm for Cold War Commander, great stuff!

pigbear28 May 2014 4:53 p.m. PST

I like 'em just the way you've shown 'em although you probably want a better camera lens. The ones on the right are a bit out of focus. Hopefully we'll see photos of these next to O8 vehicles for size comparisons in the near enough future.

Why not photos black washed to show detail AND photos painted. There's no reason you have to choose one or the other

Bashytubits28 May 2014 6:03 p.m. PST

Put a few in the store and I will buy them. The pico armor stuff looks so much better in the flesh than their photos on their site. I know you are a stickler for quality so I bet they look great. I used to be a skeptic but I bought some 3mm scifi and now I am a convert, I am going to do OGRE in 3mm.

MiniPatton28 May 2014 9:26 p.m. PST

What else is coming in the pipeline? I have a ton of OO moderns, but am waiting for certain things to show up.

My number one interest right now is modern PLA…

Also wondering what the price point is going to be on these?

Black wash for me too. Its funny down sizing from 28mm to 15mm has made me look at 3mm as a real possible scale.

Agree Bashy, I had a Polish student who was building a Polish WWII force and it's German counterparts and, as a teacher who gamed, would regularly show me his latest purchases. Amazing detail, but the painting and varnished specimens on the Pico site seem to dull the crispness on the site (especially true of the smaller Polish AFV's).

Perhaps spraying them with an undercoat and dry washing them might help, as some models on the site are shown.

The BMP's look great, but the angle of the front track seems too acute, though at that scale after basing it's probably invisible.

Will you be doing infantry and aircraft??

Jeff

Zakalwe6429 May 2014 10:02 a.m. PST

I can paint them, if you like.

AWuuuu30 May 2014 6:32 a.m. PST

Ok, thats official request..

Tom Meier for infantry :P

NavyVet30 May 2014 8:35 a.m. PST

They look just fine. I am glad to see that you got them into production.

Lion in the Stars30 May 2014 9:55 a.m. PST

Waiting for the rest of the Stryker variants, since a Stryker Company needs fourteen Infantry Carriers, 2 Mortar carriers, (in theory) 3 MGS, and an ambulance, plus 2-3 humvees and 2 cargo trucks.

SouthernPhantom30 May 2014 8:21 p.m. PST

I think it's now down to 1 MGS, Lion, but I agree. These look good- but we need more :D

MCV 8031 May 2014 2:30 a.m. PST

As O8 already makes a lot of (all mentioned) Stryker variants which look quite good to me, I am quite keen on comparing those to the new Khurasan ones.

A friend of mine that was in a Stryker unit a couple years ago says that the MGS are such utter pieces of crap that the Army is getting rid of them entirely, but I still need 3 of them for his company.

cloudcaptain03 Jun 2014 7:59 p.m. PST

These look great! I agree a wash would probably make them pop. I really hope you full bore into 3mm scifi.

commanderroj20 Aug 2014 6:36 a.m. PST

Me too. I'm looking for more 3mm Sci-Fi.

Grishka24 Aug 2014 11:09 a.m. PST

planing on making planes ? if so, rafale, f22 and F35, su35 … the most recent and not made ones ;)

khurasanminiatures24 Aug 2014 4:56 p.m. PST

I'm basically going to be making 3mm versions of the 15mm vehicles. Problem right now is it's totally stalled out, as the painter I sent them to has told me, after he got them, well, I'm real busy so I'll paint them whenever. frown

NavyVet24 Aug 2014 7:30 p.m. PST

Glad to hear you are close to production. To bad about the painter.

dsfrank26 Jun 2015 2:16 p.m. PST

Love the 3mm stuff – when will this be on your site & what are the prices? – would be cool to see a Stryker Company in one pack
