Much appreciated! I've always been fascinated by Japanese landing craft and there's not much out there on them. Good pictures (even pictures of models) are scarce.

I wonder if the folding gate was hydraulic, mechanical (crank), or manual (seems too heavy!)?

I am not sure that the ramp arrangement on this model is accurate but it does not detract from this being a nice model which fills a void in gaming pieces.

According to the US Navy's monograph printed in 1945 (and reprinted by Merriam Press)there is a small motor that drives the ramp. Its position is shown in the drawing on page 12 of the reprint.
