Much appreciated! I've always been fascinated by Japanese landing craft and there's not much out there on them. Good pictures (even pictures of models) are scarce. I wonder if the folding gate was hydraulic, mechanical (crank), or manual (seems too heavy!)? - Cort |

I am not sure that the ramp arrangement on this model is accurate but it does not detract from this being a nice model which fills a void in gaming pieces. |

According to the US Navy's monograph printed in 1945 (and reprinted by Merriam Press)there is a small motor that drives the ramp. Its position is shown in the drawing on page 12 of the reprint. The link below is to the publisher's website. The Google Books version does not have the drawing available. BWW link |
