Hi people, We have just launched our facebook page to promote our new range of fantasy figures and skirmish game rules that will be appearing on Kickstarter before the end of this year. link PLEASE LIKE OUR PAGE!!! Minion miniatures was formed several months ago with the aim of producing high quality plastic and resin miniatures for the wargames and roleplaying market. We have also had our own skirmish wargame system "Underdeep" in development for the past year. Our first offering; our Goblinoid boxed set will be introduced to the world via Kickstarter before the end of this year. We want your help and support to help us introduce our miniatures to the world! Our models are being manufactured by the market leaders in miniature plastic model manufacture; Renedra Ltd.
Our core values here at Minion Miniatures are as follows: 1) To create a range of excellent resin and plastic 28mm miniatures for use, not only in our own game system but to be used in many other fantasy rules sets including for Games Masters to use in their own roleplaying games. 2) To create an original range of products different from others on the market. 3) To listen to our customers and to design and develop our range around their needs and desires. 4) We have decided to mould our most numerous and common troops out of high quality hard plastic along with multi-part plastic character packs to enable the hobbyist to convert and customize his models to his hearts content! The product quality at Renedra is fantastic; the very best in the world and it is our desire to deliver the very best models we can, to you. This will be supported by the skirmish game "Underdeep" , Minion Miniatures accessories and also paints, carry cases and online resources. We will be starting this venture via Kickstarter within the year and we would love to hear your comments on the designs we have completed so far. The first boxed set for the Kickstarter will be the Goblinod plastic set which will consist of 12 goblin warriors, 6 hobgoblins and 2 enormous bugbears! There will also be a Goblin only boxed set for those players who wish to bulk out on the goblins only. There will be much, MUCH more to follow!

The Kickstarter will be starting later this year, probably in the aumtumn or winter of 2014. I should have some digital concept sculpts available soon. One of the 28mm models, the Goblin skulk is being sculpted as we speak and I should have some shots of him soon. The goblin skulk is the picture below and he is the Kickstarter exclusive miniature.

If the figures match the concept art I'll definately pick some up. |

Gorgeous artwork – if the figures live up to the art, these are going to be awesome. I love your approach of designing multi-species sets – perfect for rpgs and dungeoncrawls. I think that's going to appeal to a lot of people. I don't do facebook, so I hope you can get your own website set up soon. I have a couple of questions: 1) When you say you'll be making 'resin and plastic' kits, does this mean most will be proper hard plastic, with some larger kits (such as dragons or trolls)in resin? I think a lot of people have been put off by certain companies advertising resin and 'restic' sets as if they were plastic. 2) Any hints of what other sets sre in the pipeline? I would love some feline humanoids, plus I think a set of plastic multipart classic dungeon monsters would do incredibly well – classics such as ropers, beholders, etc, with matching tentacles, limbs, wings, etc allowing the creation of a wide variety of freakish monsters. Good luck with the campaign! |

I also do not do Facebook. I must say that I am very impressed with these drawings. If the actual figures turn out well I would be a potential customer to buy a bunch of these for an army of creatures. Any idea as to the date of the first release and price points and how many different characters will be available before the end of the year? I can really use these in my massive Angband diorama. Your list is very impressive. |
Minionminis | 07 Jun 2014 12:13 p.m. PST |
Thanks Gideon. We have not put a date to the kickstarter yet but it will be before the end of the year. We are finalising some initial sculpts before the kickstarter and will have some 3ups to show the world too. The Early bird deals will be amazing
lots of goblins for not a lot of money!! Add to this some free stretch goals and it should gain you a huge army in no time. More details will be available soon. I probably started this thread a bit early but have had trouble containing my own excitement. Keep an eye out as there will be more information soon
including the artwork for the Zombie Abominations. |
gideon77 | 08 Jun 2014 9:50 a.m. PST |
Thanks Mini – I am so impressed by the drawings and the prospects that I am taking a long look at my Angband diorama in order to incorporate a number of your figures should they fulfill the promise of the excellence of the art. I have long searched for orc figures that would fit into the world of Morgoth and the Middle-earth early history but come up very short outside of a few hero figures. Right now I have over 200 figures for it. Do you have plans for standard/banner bearers? Lots of goblins for not a lot of money – sign me UP!!!!!! |
Greenryth | 08 Jun 2014 2:01 p.m. PST |
Yes, there will be command. |
gideon77 | 11 Jun 2014 8:18 a.m. PST |
So we will see the kickstarter announced before the end of 2014. Is there a realistic date when we will get our hands on the first wave of actual goblin figures? |
Greenryth | 11 Jun 2014 1:33 p.m. PST |
The Kickstarter is planned for winter 2014. Realistically tooling times are fairly long. All will be explained when the kickstarter begins but we should see the first wave in autumn/winter 2015. However, we will do our best to to have the models for our customers sooner if at all possible. |
