Bonjour,

Greetings from the centre of France.

OK it's just me trying to create some impetus towards the future availability of Bavarian 28mm limbers and limber teams from the marvelous Perrys but I hope that you can see my point of view?!

The Perry Austrian limbers are FABULOUS and I know that their Bavarian infantry are now on the workbench but am I alone in being rather keen to continue using my old Foundry (Perry sculpts) but being desperate for some limbers to go with them?

Maybe instead of making the Bavarian infantry first those nice Perry twins could prioritise the Bavarian limbers?

I would certainly by a dozen and I reckon others would be keen to do the same!

What do you think?

Maybe if we support this idea that would help the Perrys move these up their list of jobs to do next?

I do hope so!

Paul

May be nice, meanwhile Lancashire games produce a Bavarian Limber, appearing at Weymouth in a week!

I had a word with the Perrys at Salute about their upcoming Bavarians. It looks like they are keen to get the infantry sorted first which means command groups etc. before they get on to anything else. I am sure that we will see the full artillery compliment eventually but we will have to be patient. On the other hand, by past experience I would guess that limber teams and drivers will be available separately so you can still put them in support of the 'Foundry' gunners.

Hi Nick and Artilleryman,

Didn't know about the Lancashire Games ones so I'll have a look.

Patience is something I'll need to practice then as I'm leaning towards waiting for the Perry versions.

Meanwhile, perhaps Front Rank could be persuaded to do Russian or Wurtemberg limbers?

Cheers,

Paul

Maybe you should suggest this to Westphalia, they seem keen to do obscure vehicles for the period.

Widowson24 May 2014 9:37 a.m. PST

IIRC, Westphalia does 1/72. I could be wrong about that.

Paul, your English is excellent. I wish my French was good. Many resources would be available to me.

Westfalia is about to branch out into 1/72. Currently they produce in 28mm.

sorry Nick, Lancashire Games aren't at Weymouth, not been asked, would be fun a show ad a weekend at the seaside, lovley

Yes we need limbers for all our armies, so a great challenge for the Perry's and something a lot of people might buy.
And Front Rank should indeed do limbers for all their Napoleonic ranges not just British and French!
Meanwhile we are still eagerly awaiting Perry Gendarmes d'elite and Baden troops, if we keep repeating it enough the Perry brothers might hear us

nickinsomerset24 May 2014 11:45 p.m. PST

Sorry Marmont mixed message, my limbers will be there as part of the Bavarian Division in our little "Larks Tongue in Aspern" game at Fisiticuffs.

Hi Widowson,

My English isn't bad 'cos I'm from the UK and just living in France!

France is great but needs lots more wargamers.

Cheers,

Paul

Am hoping for the Bavarian limbers in due course, however see much greater priority for things like Russian Uhlans, Russian horse artillery and mounted senior command, as well as more Austrian, Prussian & British senior command figures.

Above all however, really hoping for a dedicated peninsula range. Particularly Spanish and Portuguese to tackle those beautiful COF figures already available.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for posting the pics of these.

It looks a good game and I hope everyone had a great time.

Wargames' shows are sadly rather thin on the ground here in France but that may change!

A Bientot,

Paul

If you want drivers (ie the guys riding the limber horses), the Spanish versions made by Warmodelling/Fantassin are a good match for 15-18mm – in fact, I think they also market them as Bavarians. Unfortunately, they don't make the seated limber riders – I think only Minifigs do those.

In 28mm, I have a feeling that the guys at Westfalia who make all the Perry vehicles will be supporting the Bavarian range extremely enthusiastically.

von Winterfeldt05 Jun 2014 6:16 a.m. PST

Most likley the Perrys will produce a good range of Bavarian vehicles there they co-operate with the talented NR – also of Westfalia fame.
