After looking at the box art and the photos, I think they work for me as long as the background is dark. Very much a diorama piece. The viewing box also has that medieval painting vibe, which I like here.. (I hope PSR doesn't read this, otherwise his review will contain a dissertation on medieval art! He can get a bit long winded at times.)

I really like the knights – but I am a little unsure what I'll use the audience for.

One idea that flitted through my cerebrum was that they could be an objective marker in some sort of medieval-fantasy quest. The audience blocks representing some sort of magically imprisoned civilians requiring rescue.

Yeah…I've seen Empire Strikes Back…

I like the crowd boxes … they are ideal as the setting for a jousting game (which is what they are, of course) – there are several jousting games from the inexpensive Society of Ancients stalwart Fields of Glory (SoA Store/Gameslow stock so hurry if you want one) to lavish newcomer Crossed Lances … all benefit from a bit of staging, but you don't really need to build a full depth village scene …

Nice tent, too, FWIW …

Looks like plenty of value in the set!

I predict that they say the audience are a bit flat

Of course they'll say that! The gallery is a facade. By definition, they ARE flat! evil grin

The knights do look great. Like CPBelt says, it will all be in how they are painted. Dark background and colorful audience members should do the trick.

They can be lined up on one side of the joust and you can photograph them as part of the background.
