Craig and Dale from Critical Mass Games have opened the Mecha Workshop.
Nearly every bit I've sculpted for them, as well as the new mecha offerings, is now available à la carte.

Confusing, are the Ygs and Astragar mecha available? I see parts, but not the full mechs.

Was excited for torso and leg pieces, but they don't seem to be available.
I really don't need that many extra arms…

Questions noted, and relayed.
Stand by for response from CMG, their mecha-ness be praised. ;)

Hi all glad you liking the workshop. To answer a few questions. Rich the Ygs mecha themselves are on there way the paint job and the pics for the site is all stands in the way at the moment. The components have gone up first as we are able to use the renders here.

There are no Astagar mecha parts or otherwise available yet as these are still at the master stage, they have become part of a bigger project we are working on which will be worth the wait.

SpleenRippa the rest of the components (legs, bodies) will go up soon, there is just a heck of a lot of images and code to plough through. We will be making a full announcement on the news once it's all in place.

It's my fault for burying them in parts. ;)

I do love these mecha especially the AF Walker. JBR makes the coolest chicken-leg walkers out there, the Rebel VPRs are long term favourites of mine. I remember reading somewhere that he doesn't like that particular type of legs. Well I do in any case!

I appreciate that. Digitigrade is not my first choice with a mecha design, but it is growing on me. I am making more and more reverse-knee designs, and folks seem to be responding favorably to them. There will be more to come.

Good news:

Speaking of reverse-kneed designs: The Ygs Mecha and powered armours are now up for sale.

Also, the separate torsos and leg sets are available.

Enjoy!

I love JBR's work, I love mecha, and I love customizing miniatures, so this news has made me very curious. However I don't (usually) game in 15mm, so I'd like to know, how do these mecha scale with 6mm and 25/28mm minis?

John Bear Ross28 May 2014 10:10 a.m. PST

Most are around 2 inches tall (51mm), so they'd be heavy mechs/light titans in 6mm (approx. 50 feet tall), and dreadnoughts/cyborgs/heavy suits in 28mm (approximately 10 to 12 feet tall).

Best,
JBR
