I am in search for more books on the Russian Navy in The Great War. I have eight titles; most of with are reference books.

Does anyone have any additions to these lists?

Operation Kronstadt (Harry Ferguson, Overlook Press NY, 2009) covers 1919 British espionage in Russia and a British combined motor torpedo boat/air raid on the Russian Baltic Fleet in Kronstadt. Great read. Written by an exSIS(aka MI6) staff member.

I count six books in your list. What are the other two?

The World War One Baltic campaign was one of the causes of the Winter War. The Soviets remembered a war that was forgotten in the West, but they wanted coastal defenses and naval bases to protect Leningrad.

The Crimean War naval campaign in the Baltic is even more forgotten, but certainly made Russian fearful of a western threat through the Baltic, which again fed into into the Winter War.

Hope this helps!

"A Naval History of World War One" by Paul Halpern is an invaluable book, with extensive chapters on each front, including obscure battles and campaigns. Very well-researched also.
