I was fortunate enough to participate in Grady West's miniatures conversion of the 1989 Avalon Hill title, Turning Point Stalingrad, this past weekend.
I thought I'd share some of the eye candy, and also give folks a heads up that Grady is taking this game to Nashcon this weekend.

Grady's set up is very impressive when seen in person. He is coming to Nashcon this weekend and bringing his set-up again. Can't wait. |

Yes, I think this game was sort of a refresher game to work out the kinks prior to the convention. Great fun. |

There are figures up front and counters behind, both mounted to the same base. The base and counters are magnetic, which allows the counters to be flipped to show if the unit is fresh or spent. It's a really slick system. |

Brilliant. I have always wanted to do this, and now realise that there is now way I can. Wonderful job, you should be very proud of that. If you want a faster playing version, use MMP's Storm over Stalingrad. I love TP: Stalingrad, but the MMP version really is much faster and easier to play. |

Just to be clear, Princeps, I'm not at all responsible for this game-it's all Grady. I _know_ I don't have the skills, and doubt I'd have the determination to pull something like this off. I was really impressed with TPS-You have to make some really hard decisions with limited resources, which makes for a tense and exciting game. I'll have to check out Storm over Stalingrad, as well-thanks for the recommendation. |

Outstanding! I've always wanted to do that conversion. Glad to see someone did it! |

Dan, I'm sorry I don't know the details on construction. I suspect it's primarily meticulously carved, painted, and flocked rigid insulation board. I recognized a number of the buildings from the GHQ catalog, but I'm sure there are many manufacturers represented. |

Thank you anyway, Arkie. It is much appreciated your posting this, and there are sufficient ideas for me to steal anyway! |

This just blows my mind!!!! It's beautiful!! I've played "THE STREETS OF STALINGRAD" by L2 Designs and thought that was great! but now I'm absolutely amazed at the model of the city of Stalingrad and wish I could see this game played with, I presume, the minis of the forces involved!!! BEAUTIFUL indeed!!! |

I saw this terrific game being played at Recruits in the Kansas City area a few years back – and an amazing sight for sure! |
