This is not a SPOLER, at least not yet. Well
book spoilers. You have to be a real omadhaun to click on a GoT thread and not expect SPOILERS. It's a little more than an hour away, as I look at my clock. However, on last week's episode, Asha/Yara tried to rescue Theon from Ramsay Bolton/Snow. This is a scene definitely NOT in the books. I had my hopes for this, but they were dashed. This means that the sub-plot featuring the excruciatingly BORING "War of the Iron Islands Succession" sub plot is back on track. May the Old Gods and the New have mercy on us. It's more boring (but not by much) than the Dorne sub plot. Not only that, we are practically guaranteed the "Fake Arya" sub plot. And you think the "Jaime Cersei rape" TV episodes drew wrath? Just watch. Probably next season. |

Not having read beyond the first book – which I thought pretty average to be honest – more than ten years ago, I'm really enjoying the TV series. So Theon's sister doesn't try and rescue him in the book? BTW, am I the only one who found the "big reveal" that Littlefinger is behind it all rather underwhelming? For a big reveal it had no impact like the Red Wedding. |

I didnt care for the big reveal either. As far as I remember they never say for sure who killed Joffrey. I also dont remember the collusion between Littlefinger and Lyssa. I think they should have left who killed Joffrey a secret. They could have milked it for a lot longer. Remember John, Next season will start book four which brings a whole heap of boring with it. |

I am wondering who will Tyrion ask to be his champion. There is only Bronn or Jaime. Bronn may not be around, or could accept a better offer, leaving only Jaime. If he accepts, Cersei's fury will be on him. I think I know who that will be, in order to keep the outcome close to the book's. |

Going by the trailers earlier this year I think it's the Party Boy from Dorne. |

I am an avid fan of the book series, but I am actually starting to appreciate many of the changes in the show. I don't get my panties in a wad about the changes, and many of the changes are either necessary, or honestly, in some ways, a good editing of the book story. It's not all roses. I could have done without the "sexposition" sequences so common in the first two seasons, I am no prude, but they just seemed ridiculous and over the top, and made it difficult to focus on the exposition they were trying to detail. I just view it as two different stories. |

> Didn't Tyrion later on infer that it was him that poisoned Joffery? Only in jest. If Tyrion was behind it he would NOT have been anywhere near the cup, he is too smart for that. |

Yea, Tyrion and Jamie are alike in that way – when people give them false/misdirected accusations, or assume they know the reason behind something and try to accuse, Tyrion adn Jamie embrace and OWN the accusation as if it were true just to tweak the accusers and take away their power. |

Spoiler – In the book, while on the trip with Bronn in the woods by the Erie. Tyrion came across some poison mushrooms that he thought may come in handy some day. 8) |

Episode did not turn out too bad – quite good in fact. Ayra/Hound started out silly with dying soliquy from peasant and then worst attempted ambush in TV history but got better with the fear of fire segement (which will get this story back on track). Jon v. mutiners and Asha (Yara) v. Sadist illogical and un-needed (she would have put her axe in his head in five seconds). Both story lines seem back on track (I don't mind the Iron Islands and Asha stuff she is at least a partially believable fighting "babe".) Brienne & squire also worked well though they have made the clues too obvious and easy (maybe do to bitching about the length of the book version of Brienne's quest – which is now just a brief detour). Tyrion and Red Viper scence very good and for once produced a bit more tension than book version. We'll see what level of realism they give to the fight. Sansa et al also good and nice to see the inclusion of the snow castle nice touch from the books. Even the costumes seem to be improving (though not the armor) – someone should explain heardly & badges to the costumer so that when a characters says I'm wearing the king's colors – they actually are.) Sometimes I even have hope they'll get Jon's story back on book track from the near hopless current mess. Great stuff to come if B&W can just manage to do 80% justice to the books – we could be in for a fantastic ride. TomT |

Don't forget that Martin is signing off on the book departures. He is even writing episodes that "go beyiond" the books. If he has no problem, I have no problem. |
