It's only downloadable if you're a member of a "Partner Institution" in the U.S. I'll ask my wife if her College is a Partner.

I bought mine from "Articles Of War". As to maps there are few, not even one of the whole country. As for Haldane he seems strangely detached from events and having read the book twice now I find myself wishing someone else had written it. That said, it is all there is on the revolt at present. By the way, just read Osprey's "Iraq 1941" and found it fascinating. It is in the "Campaign" series. Whether Haldane, the 1941 book, or modern times it is the same places time and again. I would also recommend "The Bastard War" on WWI in Iraq. Excellent maps and well written.

thanks Hocklermp5..
in fact my main interest for the hunting of this book was, as section in which i postted my thread suggests, to spark ideas for detailed wargame scenarios with few troops..maybe skirmishes..so sketch of battlefields/actions/Toes….you really don't suggest me this book for that purpose?..while the other one "The Bastard War" could be better in that way?
thanks again

Haldane is the way to go for small actions. Some that come to mind: An armored car troop entering a town and being attacked from roof tops by petrol bombs. Quite a number of sieges of relatively small forces needing relief before supplies ran out. Siege of a "Fly" Class gunboat caught by low water. Attack on stalled armored train leading to desperate defense of small group of Gurkhas against massed rebel forces.

"Bastard War" is about the Mespot Campaign in general and battles in particular. Haldane will provide lots of small actions as primarily the Brits were cut off all around the country in small posts requiring relief.
