Hey folks,

for all those of you who haven´t stumbled across it over on the Guild: I´ve been doing a solo playtest for our latest version of houserules designed to deliver a tactically more challenging game. So if the game doesn´t seem like Force on Force, it is due to the multitude of changes we applied.

To test the scenario generation tools I´m working on, I´ve thrown together a quick scenario that should be winnable for both sides according to my tools and tested if that was the case.

Two Squads of US Marines and an attached GPMG Team were pitted against a mix of hardcore and local Taliban and had to take the crossing over a Canal, the only place vehicles could cross the canal in miles distance.

The US Forces had no fire support, only what they carried along, while the Talibs where getting reinforcement and just had to hold the Canal and inflict enough casualties on the Americans to force a retreat.

Game Turns 1-10 can be found here: link

I´m still working on the writeup for the conclusion, but the scenario balance worked out about right, both sides could have won the day if the Americans had been a bit less lucky.

Hope you enjoy!

No fire support! What were they doing going outside the wire without fire support? Where were they that was beyond the reach of GMLRS or without CAS?

Politicians man…. "No CAS/ARTY available if within 25 meters of locals."
