Ah, the Gripping Beast Arabs. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this set.

Taliban in most games need to be fielded in quantities similar to Zombies in Zombie games, and for the same reasons. They have Bleeped textty command and control, Bleeped textty tactics, and come in waves.

These three have Russian gear, care of the WGF Russians from TMP link

picture

The GB Arabs have only 1 sprue type in it with 5 bodies, repeated 8 times

picture

This would SEEM to make it hard to get any variety (and MIGHT if i was making just spearmen and archers from the set) but with all the spare parts I'm using (spares from -5- Wargames Factory sets) it's amazing the variety I can get. I could conceivably do another -3- boxes of GB Arabs and not have a duplicate figure.

The RPG guy here is talking into what will EVENTUALLY be greenstuffed into a cellphone

picture

The guy on the far right is an ammo-carrier for the HMG in the middle. I tried to make one for every MG, because I intend to utilize a house rule where everyone NOT withing a certain distance of an ammo-carrier must roll for running out of ammo when they shoot.

I'm less than happy with the belt on the MG42 (it's off of a Games Workshop sprue of some sort in my bits pile) as the rounds on the belt are like TWICE the size of the barrel on the weapon. It's like the Bleeped texting thing is chambered in 25mm Bushmaster, or 12 guage or something instead of 7.92mm

picture

More RPGs for the Arabs. The guy in the middle has an L85A1 rifle, but I'm calling it a KH-2002 (an Iranian bullpup rifle, I like the idea of Iranian-Taliban connections) and the last guy has some kind of MP5 clone from the "Survivors: The Men" boxed set

picture

Pretty straight-forward group, except for the guy with the stick-grenade He's waving one of the two "THE HOLY BIBLE" books from the "Survivors: The Men" boxed set, but with the words filed off.

Yeah, it's gonna become a Koran.

picture

Another group of rifles. I have about 20-30 Arabs in pewter that are rocking the Kalashnikovs pretty hard, so I wanted the plastics to be a more motley assortment. I like the way they came together

picture
More ammo carriers. These boxes are from the Wargames Factory "Germans" set for the MG42 assistant-gunners… Since the average German rifle platoon existed only to feed their MG42's they give you a LOT of ammo boxes and such.

I assembled the Germans as rifle teams for a Bolt Action team and sold them at a con a few years back (as they were originally an impulse purchase and I later had second thoughts about entering another period)

If/When I buy another set of WWII Germans, I'll likely have less spares

picture

Love the Molotov on this guy. It's from the Russian boxed set, which gives you like 3-4 of the things (way more than the the "Survivors" boxed sets, which give you like 2 per box)

Saving my Molotovs for if i get more survivor sets to make Rioters

picture

Another Stick-grenade. I don't know if anyone even still issues the things, but I had plenty of spares, and they seem like the kind of thing you'd see in the area

picture

Machine gunners. The DPM machine gun was supplemented in the 1950s by the more modern RPD machine gun and entirely replaced in Soviet service by the general purpose PK machine gun in the 1960s. But they keep turning up in Africa and the Middle East all the time,

picture

Another Stick Grenade. I may try to green-stuff some of these into dynamite…

picture

One dude with an M16. Tried NOT to arm any with modern western weapons.

There are like 6 more guys I didn't photograph somehow but I'm too lazy to figure out which… I'll wait and post them in the pile of PAINTED figs when/if i ever get these guys painted.

I know one has a Panzefaust though, which I find immensely funny, as I do NOT want to be the guy with the 60-70 year old anti-tank rocket launcher trying to find out if it works or if it will simply EXPLODE if I pull the trigger.

You've been busy! The WGF weapons seem to fit quite well.

I have. Building and customizing is my favorite part of the hobby. I would make a business of building other peoples plastics If I thought I'd have any chance of it paying for itself
