Hi guys, one concern I had when planning my 15mm Space orc army was the seeming lack of Orc minis, I thought I may struggle with variety in poses etc, however I am finding that there is actually quite a large number of suitable figures, my Khurasan Brunt herd figs have just arrived and I am eager to start cutting them up and Orcafying them, here is a pic of the available poses, and a size comparison against 2 GZG and 2 Khurasan Orcy types, they are nice and hefty and will be great as heavier troops, I will be sculpting boots on them, cutting off the tails and faces and giving them orc faces, armour and helmets, happy days. link

Thanks for the side by side pics Dan. The Rhino heads ,once chopped off, might also be used to convert/build boar like creatures for ork cavalry or are you going to just carve off the front part as you said & rebuild the face ? Z |

Always interesting to see you get to work on my figures Dan! Zrunelord, they do somewhat resemble rhinos, yes, but they have some differences too. They have a more sloped forehead going down to the nostrils, and the horn is Y shaped. I'm thinking of doing a ramshackle vehicle for them as well, a bruntmobile. |

Well, I'm winding down new releases so you won't have too much more of that to worry about, zrunelord. It's been a good run, but I think I've reached about as much as I can handle and I still have a ton of stuff I haven't put in the market yet. Will that mean no new stuff from me? No, not even after I get the backlog out. I'll still periodically release a new range. I just won't release 20 ranges each year. |

If you're still looking for more variety, Rebel's Kurgen look fairly orc-ish (although the difference in bulk might be a bit too much – I received a batch of brunts a couple of days ago and they're huge, whereas Rebel sculpts lean towards the smaller end of 15mm). The Scene also carry a line of Wasteland Warriors which, if memory serves, were originally orks until a C&D forced a re-sculpt of the faces, so it probably wouldn't take much to re-re-sculpt them. There are some warbikes in that line as well. |
