Ok I ordered some stuff from warlord games at Christmas (my Christmas prezzie from ny better half) well about a week ago I had a good look at the last few bits I need to do. I did check it when I got it all but not to the point of opening everything and checking it all separately. So I found a miss cast soviet mortar, and a couple of the sprues from the plastic German pioneers where damaged. On a side note some of the boxs of plastic figures seem to have to much packed into them, after seeing wargames factory sprues with the corner lugs and recesses I'm pretty sure this would cut down on damage to the sprues. So back to the reason I'm writing, once I'd found the damage I e-mailed warlord. I waited a week and no reply, I e-mailed them again and no reply! Now I've had a few issues with my phone so I'm thinking maybe that's part of the problem. So I rang them, I was greeted by a friendly voice who introduced himself as Bill, he explained he had only just taken over his job role and Bolt Action had taken off greatly and they where behind with things. I explained the issues and he said he would pop the replacements in the post and I should recieved them in the next few days. This happened roughly 3pm on Friday. 10.30 saturday morning I'm answering the door to our postie who's got a package for me. Everything has being replaced completely, not just the damaged parts. So warlord you've taken a situation and exceeded my expectations! Thanks guys once again you've come through and made me one happy customer!

They are a good bunch of guys.

I'm very satisfied with their customer service! I've only had one issue with the half dozen orders or so that I've made to them and they handled it like true professionals!
There's a few companies out there that could learn from their CS!

I wish I could agree with the previous. But my experience has been rather different. I have been trying to order a French infantry squad from Warlord since February. Along with order dice and an early war German squad. I have had no luck at all.
Admittedly, this has been through my favorite game store. And they go through a distributor. So a little lag time is going to occur. But nearly four months?!
Many folks that play Bolt Action, Black Powder and Hail Cesar are already not buying Warlord's miniatures simply because they find dealing with this company deeply unsatisfactory. So, they have bought the rules, but they order their miniatures elsewhere. This can't be good for Warlord's bottom line.

Are you sure its warlords fault?

Admittedly, this has been through my favorite game store. And they go through a distributor.

Which has nothing to do with Warlord.

Rrobbyrobot11 May 2014 5:44 p.m. PST

Actually, It has very much to do with Warlord. The distributor can't get the product sent to them from Warlord.
So, yes I'm quite sure it's Warlord's fault.

I wouldn't take the word of a distributor without, at least,
a five pound bag of salt!

Rrobbyrobot12 May 2014 5:27 a.m. PST

Cyrus,
I would normally agree with you. But I'm not taking the distributor's word for it. I help run the store. We ordered some $1,200.00 USD worth of Warlord's product last attempt, along with a similarly large amount of product from other companies they handle. Everybody else' product came in fine. We received $200.00 USD worth of Warlord's product. And there are several items not even available through them as Warlord doesn't offer them through the distributor.
I would order directly through them, but I wish to continue to support this store. It's where I go to game. If it should go away I shall be without opponents. As I was for ten years.
I only started playing Warlord's games since I started going to this store to game. If it goes away I'll have no reason to continue in 28mm at all.

Hi Robbie

Which store are you based at? I can look into the service being offered by the distributor or arrange for direct sale to the store if needed.

All the Best

Woolly Dervish,
I frequent Borderlands Comics and Games in Greenville, South Carolina, USA.
Any assistance will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Robby

It looks like Woolly Dervish is willing to work with you in finding a solution to your problem. Placing an order direct through the store will enable you to get the things you want AND still support your store.

Cyrus,
So it would seem. And that's not only good service from Warlord Games. It also shows the value in being a TMPer.
Pretty nifty.
