Well it's taken me a few months of painting to get this far and I now approach the 400 painted figures mark. The game board is temporary until I complete a new planned 125mm hex board which will be slightly textured and painted before I add the dotted hex grid for Commands & Colors Napoleonics. I'm surprised how 'conventional' the game looks for a hex game and I'll be taking this concept forward.

All figures are 15mm by Essex Miniatures,I thought long and hard before deciding upon Essex, but in the end I just enjoy painting them and they produce the kind of static units I like.

Here are a few pictures, much more over on my blog including a write up of the game should you care to take a look, but for those who choose not to follow links I have posted some here.

Very nice, I am currently working on some Naps myself but I have gone for Minifigs, the Essex do look nice tho. Well done.

Great-looking game and nice write up. I love the fact that you are playing with a modern rule set but the game still looks really old school. Whilst I appreciate really well made terrain I also really like the look of games played on a green baize cloth rather than a terrain mat.

It's been very interesting to watch your C&C project unfold, you have put a lot of work in each step of the way. Thanks for sharing.

It looks to me like you managed well enough without the hexes.

Maybe I'll try it with my 15's.

How many inchs/centimeters per hex?
