Spanish 1806-08 without a doubt. Looks great on the table, a myriad of uniforms and flags, and your opponent gets to see all the work you put into painting their backpacks.

I game in 15mm SYW/WAS, but the most interesting 28mm armies I see are the 9YW and WSS ones. Maybe it's just the hats. I am not really up on the flags, though, so I might change my opinion if I knew more about that topic.

Renaissance Poles, with winged hussars , wagons, Tartars, Cossacks, etc.

I'd say Russians in Potemkin uniform. Very stylish!

VonBlucher10 May 2014 2:54 p.m. PST

1806 Prussians, very colorful with a touch of the old and the new.

Samurai! Very colorful and unique uniforms.

WAS or SYW Prussians, of course! ;-)

Would it be stretching too far chronologically to say Indian Mutiny Brits? Dragoon Guards, Light Dragoons, Hussars, Lancers, line infantry, Highlanders, Rifles, European Fusiliers, sailors & marines, Ghurkas, Punjabis, Baluchis, Bengal & Madras & Hyderabad infantry & cavalry… you can do an entire completely plausible army with no two units in the same colour coats *or* pants, and with almost as much range in headgear.

SYW Prussians: brass mitres for the grenadiers and fusiliers, lots of different facing colours for the musketeers, cuirassiers with their iconic cream colour kollet ( except for one regiment with a yellow coat), dragoons, hussars in both busbies and mirliton hats, Bosniak lancers, all kinds of colorful double blue freikorps regiments, all set off with beautiful flags.

G'Day Gents

Well I can assure everyone that it is not my army(s)…as a matter of fact…I have perhaps the worse assortment conceived ;-)

I have 25mm figures Napoleonic figures…and quite a few different brands…to include very old figures…and old 20mm figures thrown in…

Quite a ragged lot…but they have been…and are always fun to use ;-)

My British Guard and French Guard are figures from the 70s…which I bought in the 70s…and I would never trade them… ;-)

Best Regards

The Russian and Prussian SYW armies by Olicana are truly spectacular.

Anything with kilts!

Great Italian Wars French. Gendarmes in their finery, both Swiss and Landsnects, big park of impressively large artillery pieces, and lots of colourful extras. Well it's my favourite anyway.

Thank you, kind Sir.

There's not much to add to Olicana's pictures is there? – except if we merge a couple of these answers together we have the alluring prospect of elephants in kilts! (I thought that was only my family!) :-)

Tabletopndice12 May 2014 8:02 a.m. PST

Elephants in Kilts? Not so rare..I saw one coming out of a bar in Glasgow not long ago…..But that apart,Just want to say that the figures above in all the photos are lovely, beautifully painted..Well done.
