Hi everyone.
I've just begun my Trojan War project for Of Gods and Mortals which can be seen here:

I'm wanting some input in my poll as this is the first time that I haven't painted eyes on my figures and want to know what people think.

They look great (and most people don't have any business painting eyes on figures).

I think they look great the way you have done them. IMHO painting eyes on 28mm figures never looks realistic as the eyes end up out of proportion.

Superb. Carry on.

As I can't paint eyes worth a damn, looks like your figures are great without them. From any distance, eyes kinda disappear in the facial shadows anyway. Your wash technique looks wonderful.

I don't do eyes so am usually pretty impressed when I see models painted with eyes that don't look like Marty Feldman.

goragrad03 May 2014 6:06 p.m. PST

Nice work.

Look fine as is.

morrigan03 May 2014 7:04 p.m. PST

No,they aren't needed. Nice looking figures.

Barenakedleadies03 May 2014 8:51 p.m. PST

Really good stuff. I'd continue without painting the eyes.

Thanks for the positive comments guys. Voting seems to be evenly split so far, but the comments here are overwhelmingly against painting finnicky eyeballs. We'll have to see where it leads!

Mooseworks803 May 2014 10:04 p.m. PST

Very nice.

Cracking job – just the way you have them!

corporalpat04 May 2014 5:44 p.m. PST

Have never really seen the point to painting eyes on wargame figures. If you are strictly a display modeler or doing a diorama for the Smithsonian then sure, by all means.

williamb04 May 2014 11:07 p.m. PST

Excellent just the way they are.

WarWizard05 May 2014 6:22 a.m. PST

Forget the eyes. They look fantastic as is.

LordAshram05 May 2014 6:31 a.m. PST

They look great, but for skirmish I would definitely do eyes… they are the windows to the soul, and on individual figures like that I think you need them:)

Codsticker05 May 2014 9:28 a.m. PST

I agree with LordAshram; they look great the way they are, but I would probably paint the eyes for a game the requires only a few figures or if I was going to take fairly close-up pics for a blog. For arms length gaming, though- not required.
