Fleet Action Imminent vs NT Clash of Dreadnoughts! What are the "+" and "-" of the two exceptional naval rule systems? Which one is better? Thank you, Vaggelis |

I have not played FAI, only looked at a sample of it so regrettably I cannot do a comparison. But I am a strong advocate of NT. It gets results in a reasonable time with a real "feel" for the period. I personally enjoy the WWI version better than WWII. The optional rules add even more to the mix. |

Have played both (and a whole lot of others) and found FAI to be the best for me. Handles the smaller ships better than NT (IMHO) and the results and feel is in line with the period. NT does play faster (which can be a factor if you're crunched for playing time). FAI works well for actions up to Dogger Bank sized. Jutland sized can be done, but it'll take awhile to play out (and frankly, NO ruleset with a level of respectable detail can really take on Jutland. Its just too big of a battle). |

21eRegt I believe that NT is a very good game in general. I played 4-5 games of CoD. But, I agree with Coastal2 and I feel too that there is something "strange" in the way that NT handles DD flotillas. In a couple of battles I played, my mate had 5-6 bases of 6-8 DDs each (30-48 ships) and my BCs and BBs with only 2 bases of DD flotillas and a couple of CLs for support had no chance! Ok, it was an unorthodox way to test the rules but the abusive list of my mate was the winner at the end of both battles! Thank you both mates. |

Naval Thunder is faster to play, but I find FAI gives slightly more convincing results, at the cost of a bit of extra complexity |
