I discovered that I had some of the original Chaos heavy weapons tucked away in a box. Do these have any value to collectors, or are they just obsolete figures?

Also found an original SM Chaplain or two, one of which I had given a paint job far better than I thought that I was capable of.

Thanks!

As I recently found trying to sell off nicely painted Chaos Warriors for the Warhammer Fantasy that were the older models there were not any takers. It appears that the secondary market for GW's older figures has bottomed out. Now I did not try to sell any 40K figures but I think the consensus is that it is now a buyers market. Others may come along with a different view.

I think the missile launcher was valued at 35 points, the various munition types were valued separately. I would have to dig out my Slaves To Darkness hardcover to be certain.

It depends on exactly HOW OLD, and their condition.

Not that I can say, "if pristine it's worth XX," I'm saying if it is painted or stripped with small chips of paint left over it is not worth as much as if pristine.

Age will indicate rarity. Do a search through ebay for the same things you have and save the auctions to see what happened to them, whether they sold, for how much, etc.

ALSO – if you truly gave a stellar paint job to them, the paint job itself may be a higher value than one would attribute to the actual figure.

Black primer for all but one. That's in rather nice deep maroon armor with dark gold trim and better dry-brushing than I remember being capable of. ;)

You might want to strip the primed ones.
