Alte Fritz (Jim) put me onto this excellent blog which show cases Connoisseur, Bicorne and other vintage figures. With these figures details often have to be painted on or added with conversions. But the results can be works of art, as is the case here. There are many ex-WHC figures in this collection.

I love Connoisseur miniatures and these are just fantastic.

Connoisseur figures are timeless because the proportions of the figures are true and they have great animation. It all combines for a great looking regiment of figures. Connoisseur is still my go to figure for the Sudan campaigns.

It's not right to call any figures vintage when many of us have them still unpainted in the lead pile! wink And I do love my painted ones, too.

The examples you posted are exquisitely done.

I have quite a few of the ACW line that is still soldiering on.

@Florida: I know what you mean.

I was thinking how sad it would be for any of these lovelies to be lost to the wargaming world. We should create a register and have owners carry a card, like organ donors, "I want my figure collection sold to X in the event of my death."

Rick, fess up to your lead pile and find encouragement in the community. Your shame will also push you forward. It took me 20 years to get around to painting some hinchcliff french figures.

Thanks for the link. I really like those Saxon gunners.

Agree entirely. It's also the fact you field them in proper large Grand Manner style units as well. John has done a great job on restoring and creating these guys

I have about a thousand Connoisseur figures. Bought the first when visiting Peter Gilder's WHC near Scarborough back in the 80's. They still grace my table here in Houston. Infantry are my favorite. My French battalions (8x36) in campaign dress look great.
