I have finally gotten around to digitizing some slides I took back in the 1980s. First on the list were a series of pictures I took of a book called "L'Armee Prussiene de Waterloo," which I think is this one: link It's mostly uniform plates and information about Blucher's army in 1815. So I think it might be a useful resource to share with my Napoleonic-addled comrades on the Internets. But since I've never posted pictures on the Internet, I'm wondering what options I have for a hosting site. I have a Gmail account that allows me to load pictures and share them, but I worry that the photo app is as lame as Gmail itself. What would others recommend? Would someone be interested in hosting these pictures on their web site? Here's an example* of what I'm talking about: link Thanks to anyone who can give me a hand, Mark * – also a test of gmail's photo-sharing app. Seems pretty slow to me. |

First on the list were a series of pictures I took of a book called "L'Armee Prussiene de Waterloo," which I think is this one: The book you are referring to was published in 1969. Photos of the pages of the book, if published on the Internet, would be in breach of copyright. |

Major Bumsore is correct. If published in 1969, that book is still under copyright and it is illegal to publish it on the web without the permission of the copyright holder. I work at the Miss. State Archives and we have to concern ourselves with copyright issues all the time. |

Digitizing slides
good luck. My Minolta box does it wonderfully, but, at high resolution takes 6 minutes to do the four slides in the holder. I have about 3.5K for lectures to med students
..easier to start again digitally! No one wants these pics now anyway. They just download the work of others off the Internet ten minutes before their talk |

Ah well, so much for trying to be helpful. I really thought the publication date was much earlier when I photo'd them. |
