Some impression of our wargame for the medieval weekend in the Kasteeltuinen Arcen Netherlands. See aldegarde.blogspot.nl |

Very nice, Mijnheer! That is an incredibly colourful game. The scenery (especially the town) looks terrific. The venue looks perfect for gaming, too. With that sort of glass roof, lighting wouldn't have been the problem that it apparently was at Salute! PS: I like your club flag – it matches the flag I sometimes fly at my home here in New Zealand!

Thanks for the kind words. Great to see the flag of Limburg flying in New Zealand. We have added some wargame stuf to it, combining heritage and hobby. |

Although I like to wargame some Medieval conflicts the colors used here are a bit too vibrant and not "accurate" according to Medieval standards

Wow, that a manufacturer reacts this way on a remark that I made about the poses of some of his figures (dutch ww2 trumpeter) or armament says a lot about you. |

Pretty well EVERY medieval wargamer uses vibrant tinctures, so there is nothing unusual here. I wouldn't know if that is accurate or not, as I'm no heraldry scholar. However, either way, it is the common practice for most medieval wargamers. For example, you only have to look at the vibrancy of the tinctures used on the medieval flags produced by any miniature flag manufacturer. I love the vibrancy, which to me conveys the medieval knight in the same way as full-dress finery conveys the Napoleonic soldier (whether strictly accurate or not). |
