Picked up a copy of first edition Talisman, and what should also come in the box, but a batch of painted minis! Though the plastic case said "Talisman First edition", only two of the minis (not pictured) were Taliman figs. Here are the rest, any ideas? Pic 1 These Slotta figs (ignore the dwarf, he's not a slotta) could be GW, but I don't know.

Pic 2 and 3 have cast-on bases, some look a bit ral-partha'ish to me, but I'm not sure. I thought I had the big vicar pegged as a Grenadier, but I was wrong there also. Help! |

Number 1-4 is the old not-Friar Tuck fig from GW, one of three Robin Hood inspired models (the third being not-Little John). Number 3-2 is a Ral Partha Hill Troll. I believe 3-4 is an old Reaper fig from a good ten-twelve years back. |

The big guy in pic #1 is a GW/Marauder chaos warrior. #'s 2-4 in pic 2 are (if I am not mistaken) Talisman miniatures- druid & sorceress, i am not sure about the middle one. |

The dwarf is a Ral Partha sculpt. It was used by TSR for The New Dungeon! (plastic) and D&D (metal), and both a metal and plastic version were included in the introductory D&D boxed set from the late '90s called Dragon Quest. Here are the figs from The New Dungeon! for comparison:

Wrong about everything in pic 2 but the talisman assassin- I used to be good at this! Here are many of the Talisman minis pictured: solegends.com/cittal |

Thanks for the help. Good to find out that the assassin fig is and the Friar tuck. Except for the chaos warrior which is just too cool, the other GW stuff will be going out as it seems to have some value. The rest will get a bit of sprucing up and then join my collection of random fantasy figs. Parzival, are you sure that's the same figure? The position of the hand and axe are different. Interestingly, your post reminded me that I have the figure you posted and the rest, though possibly not the knight with morning star. Mine is red plastic and painted with Testor's enamels. I got mine in a D&D intro game from some toystore in the 90's. Possibly "Dragon Quest", but I can't recall exactly. |
