Hi,

I've taken some advantage of these Easter holidays for finishing up the first platoon (=sección) of my projected Republican Army Company.

I've chosen to follow the organisation described in a CoC PDF supplement, which is substantially the same number of bases per platoon than described at Spain in Flames FoW supplement --although better detailed than this latter, because it allows to subdivide your platoon into its composing sections (=pelotones), as you will see.

This way, each 3-figures stand represents a squad (=escuadra) of 4-5 men. Besides, so a detailed organization allows me to easily re-scale the unit by simply re-naming the platoons as companies, or even as battalions depending on the chosen scenario and ruleset. Better having some stands in excess than inversely.

Here you have a couple pictures on the whole platoon in a compact, FoW-ish style:

I've chosen to identify every unit by a mixed code of color rectangles and vertical bars at the stand rear. Red, White, Yellow and Green standing for 1[sup]st[/sup], 2[sup]nd[/sup], 3[sup]rd[/sup] (and eventually 4[sup]th[/sup]) platoons of my future Company, respectively; while 1 bar means 1[sup]st[/sup] section of the platoon, and 2 bars stand for its 2[sup]nd[/sup] section. No bars on the rectangle identifying the platoon leader.

This way, mine is the 1[sup]st[/sup] platoon of a given company.

Same coding applies to all stands:

Here you can see now that same platoon, visually subdivided into its two composing sections, each one formed by 3 squads on medium size stands and lead by a sergeant on a small stand. The platoon lieutenant is also on a small size stand, but can be easily distinguished by the flag carried by his assistant, besides of the red rectangle with no bars at stand rear.

Most of the figures are Minairons own but, fond as I am of mixing figures whenever possible, you'll see there a few HPC/Bandera, BUM and Caesar figures too.
OK, that was the theory. Let's go now for some detail pictures on each stand:

(The man in the middle is a slightly modified Frenchman from Caesar; the other two are Minairons own)

(A Minairons infantryman flanked by two HPC/Bandera men)

(The one at right is from Caesar; the other two are Minairons own)

(Minairons both)

(Minairons both)

(Hey, these two are BUM soft plastic!)

(An all-Minairons stand)

(Another Caesar figure flanked by Minairons ones)

(One of each make)

Your thoughts?

Beautiful ! Lluis, I live in the US. Can I order your figures from your website or do you have a distributor in the US?

@Dennis0302,

Our main distributors in the US are Stevens Intl. (NJ), so you might give a try directly at them, or the shops supplied by them. But you can also pick our 1:72 stuff from Pat Condray of HPC (FL): link
