I've finally decided to try GQ3 (not so keen on the more detailed record keeping) and I'm not sure what happens when you take hits on an already destroyed location. I.e. the destroyer has 3 gun mounts and all 3 are already knocked out. Another "gun mount" hit is rolled. Do I ignore the result, or re-roll the the hit's location, or what? |

You ignore the result – the hit causes no damage. |

Some damage locations can be repaired second hits on these locations "destroy" the location and prevent repair, eg radar. Have you had a browse on the ODGW GQ3 forum there is much discussion of these questions, particularly in the early postings. We found that once we got our heads around the ship logs the more detailed damage paid of in improved feel. Cheers David |

We roll for every hit location to see if hits are second or third hits on the same local. |

Yes, additional hits on already hit systems (guns, searchlights, torpedo mounts, floatplanes, DC mounts) are ignored (think of it as 'bouncing the rubble'). Repairable systems (engineering, steering) can be hit twice (which, if hit again with 1 hit already registered, results in the system permanently out and unrepairable). |
