This year's Guns of August game convention will be held on August 22-24, 2014 and held again at the Holiday Inn Patriot at Williamsburg, VA.

Why not make the convention a family vacation. The deal we have with the Holiday Inn Patriot is $79 USD USD a night, which is a fantastic rate for the historic vacation destination of the Historic Triangle of Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown. This rate extends for three days before the convention and three days after, so Wednesday to Wednesday.

Hello,

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but when I click of the PEL link at "wbconventions.org" (for the Guns of August), I keep getting the PEL for the Williamsburg Muster held earlier this year.

I'd like to see the PEL for this event as we'll be in the area for a visit before school starts up again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You may respond here or to me directly at drop50fff(at) gmail(dot)com

Mucho Danke,

Mike

How does this convention compare to Williamsburg Muster held earlier in the year as far as dealers, attendees, and games?

Blue Devil 8824 Jul 2014 9:01 p.m. PST

Jason,

The convention is much like the Muster with a few more RPGs

Mike still working on the PEL.

As far as dealers attending so far we have the following coming.

Cotton Jim
Falcon Figures
For the Historian – Casemate and Osprey books
Silver Eagle Wargaming Supplies
Atlantis Games and Hobbies
Dragons Hoard
Phalanx Consortium – Skirmish Sangin rules and figures
Warstore Collectables
So far

There is a Flames of War tournament

As far as the convention numbers, they are about the same as the Muster. Our first year there were over 300+ attendees but that was the last year that Historicon was in King of Prussia, PA

Thanks Justin! Will there be a flea market as well?

Sunday morning as usual

First PEL added to website and I know of at least 10 more games that need to be added as well at the FOW tournament.

We keep adding events up until August 17th so they can go in the program.

On Friday evening (7PM) there is a Settlers of Catan tournament scheduled for the board room.

I signed up to run an Arab-Israeli War game using microarmor and the FoW rules. I haven't seen one in that scale since BF came out with the rules, but we've played it several times in Mechanicsville and it's a great rolling tank battle of fun. Could be that Guns of August is the only con where you will find such a fun, unique game! (blatant attempt at promoting the con!)
