I will be hosting the 2nd Annual DBA 3 tournament at Nashcon….

link

Nashcon is HMGS Mid-South's premiere gaming convention hosted in Nashville, TN (Franklin really…. South Nashville). The facility is the lovely Cool Springs/Franklin Marriot Hotel. The event date is Memorial Day weekend… May 23-25th.

DBA 3 Tournament….
Morning Session Saturday, May 24th
15mm Open
24" boards
No BUAs
Swiss Chess format with first round matching historical opponents
2.2 armies
We will use the Sept. playtest edition (the last public edition) unless the rules are published. (there are few changes.)

I will be hosting a short 2.2 to 3 class for those who have not played DBA 3.

This will be the 2nd year of this tournament. Prizes by Splintered Light Miniatures.

This is cross posted at Fanaticus!

Pre-Feudal Scots no doubt!

Go with the most spectacular army in DBA. Gallic of course! I'm not saying you will be unbeatable. I am saying winning or losing will be done in a spectacular fashion! grin

lkmjbc318 Apr 2014 8:48 a.m. PST

I disagree! Dark Ages Welsh! All "Fast" warband. Move fast. Bounce off fast! Die fast!

Well, come to think of it… they did smash my pre-Feudal Scots.

C'mon, 19c Seleucids are the most spectacular: elephant, scythed chariot, cataphract, camel, four pikes, knight, warband, plus a couple of psiloi. Trying to coordinate them is like herding cats.

Dark Age welsh would definitely be described as another spectacular army! In fact, any army with fast warbands should be! Gallic still have the option right?

Seleucid can certainly provide a spectacle. Not sure it is a spectacular spectacle though! wink

Joe, Count me in too. I'll probably play my Feudal French.

The Thomas' of Siege of Augusta(Nashcon's sister convention)fame, right?
SoA had a great DBA tournament too, right?

Has DBA3 been published yet?

lkmjbc318 Apr 2014 4:11 p.m. PST

Not yet. Phil Barker's health has been an issue. Things are looking up though. He was able to attend a history conference last week. He has begun again to email some folks… so he is doing better.
