I like it, surprisingly! My only quibble is that it uses custom dice. That is mitigated by the fact that the system uses them very well. You build a dice pool based on your abilities, the complexity of the challenge and situational modifiers and roll. You get varying levels of success or failure PLUS the possibility of Meta – changes based on the light side or dark side score. Feels VERY Star Wars and once you get used to the dice pool mechanic it's very fast. Also, so far it's NOT all – jedi all the time. Force powers are very low key and extremely cost ineffective when building starter characters. You will be Luke the Moisture farmer, not Luke the Vader-duelist. |
